My name is Juliette Martineau; I am a visual artist, 39 years old, and I live and work in Vienna. My artistic practice is rooted in an international, multidisciplinary dialogue and fits within the tension between figurative and atmospheric Neo-Expressionism.

In addition to my love of poetry, cappuccino, chansons, and travel, I am fascinated by the interplay of art and words, sensuality and aestheticism, the psyche and emotion. People, echoes, and cultural-geographical spaces and experiences flow seamlessly into my creative processes. They intensify the portrayal of emotional density, which eludes rational understanding and is sublimated into expressive resonance.

Perceiving art as a profound act that unfolds across nuances and layers—sensing its causality and weaving it further into my own experience—is the foundation of my artistic consciousness. Intermediality and ekphrasis are additional key influences that shape the origin of my works.
